Over 6o percent of adult Americans are considered overweight or obese, so it is not surprising to find that weight loss is one of the most popular New Year's resolutions. At the beginning of each New Year many attempt to lose weight. In the long run few are successful. I would like to share some ideas that have been successful for many of my clients.

First and foremost is eating according to your metabolic type. Our practice specializes in determining the metabolic type for each client. The protein type individual requires eating sufficient protein at every meal. Failure to do so will lead to chronic fatigue, diminished well-being, and symptoms of depression, anxiety and melancholy. The mixed type individual will also need to eat protein at every meal however, they will be able to eat less total amount as well as less high-quality protein. The carbohydrate type individual must consume a small amount of protein and fat compared to carbohydrates. They will need to avoid the heavier high purine proteins.

It is imperative to have proper digestion. Many of our clients suffer from lack of stomach acid. This precludes proper digestion and assimilation of protein. The brain will react to the lack of new amino acids entering the body by down regulating the thyroid, and adrenal glands thereby turning down your metabolism. This condition leads to craving carbohydrates and excessive weight gain. The lack of pancreatic enzymes and normal bile flow from the liver and gallbladder will also lead to weight gain. An overactive appetite can also be induced from nutritional deficiencies, high cortisol levels induced by stress, and many prescription drugs.

We will maximize your metabolism by supporting your Methylation cycle, correct any imbalance that is leading to symptoms of anxiety, depression or OCD tendencies. We will educate you on detoxifying your liver, balancing your hormones, correcting nutritional deficiencies, advocating proper exercise routines, balancing pH, minerals, and oxidative stress.  

Our basic weight loss program work for the vast majority of our patients. For that small percentage that requires additional help we may use the HCG diet program. This can only safely be used in patients who have performed our basic weight loss program. We have modified Dr. Simeon’s program to maximize weight loss and minimize side effects. Our average patient loses 25 pounds in 45 days and maintains the weight loss as long as they continue with the program.

Please remember that HCG injections for weight loss should only be taken after consulting a physician. They will perform several tests to determine if the HCG injection protocol is the proper weight loss solution for you, and they will instruct you on the proper method of injecting yourself at home.
